I've been reading the first few chapters of The Hobbit for the first time and love some of the visual images that pop into my mind. I did four speed paintings. I really want to finish the book and do a bunch of paintings before the movie comes out.

Great ideas in such a short space of time, 4 very different environments, great colours and just enough to set the imagination alight, great work :)
